St. Luke’s Behavioral Health Center has been providing behavioral health services since 1969. Our staff provide compassionate care using a holistic approach to children, adolescents, adults and seniors who require psychiatric and substance use care. Located in the heart of Phoenix, the Behavioral Health Center has 127 inpatient beds, a full spectrum of both inpatient and outpatient services, and an additional 20 inpatient geriatric beds located at Mountain Vista Medical Center in Mesa. We offer a fast-paced environment and the opportunity to be part of a multidisciplinary team working alongside underserved populations coping with complex behavioral health needs at varying levels of acuity.
Accountable for conversion of diagnoses and treatment procedures into codes using an international classification of diseases (CPT-4, ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS). Recent experience in hospital outpatient procedural coding required including interventional radiology. Requires skill in the sequencing of diagnoses/procedures to optimize reimbursement, medical terminology, anatomy, and pathophisiology. Ensures that records are coded in an accurate and timely manner. Remote option available.
High school graduate or equivalent.
AHIMA credential of RHIA, RHIT, CCS, or CCA required.
1 or more years of previous acute care hospital coding experience required.
Knowledge of diagnoses/procedures in accordance with ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding principles.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy and physiology.
Experience in hospital outpatient procedural coding including interventional radiology.
Ability to work with physicians in a collaborative manner.
Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
Additional languages preferred.
