Position Title: Human Resources Generalist

Status: Full-Time

Job Summary:

Responsible for processes in the following functional areas:

  • Employee Relations/Department Liaison
  • Benefits and Compensation
  • New Hire Orientation
  • Personnel Record Maintenance
  • Payroll Adjustment and Maintenance
  • Exit Interview/Offboarding Process
  • Coordination of Leave of Absence Procedures

Key Responsibilities:

An employee in this position must exercise discretion and independent judgment according to Steward and St Luke’s policies and procedures. The employee must have demonstrated organization, time management, conflict resolution, and personal relationship skills. Previous HR or management/supervision experience is preferred. Must have the ability to speak, write, and understand English in a fluent capacity. The employee will accurately maintain and update the HRIS database with changes and additions/terminations of new employees. A key task for this position is effectively creating and establish relationships with the supervisors, managers, and Directors of the departments, and work with the leadership to create a positive culture. Will maintain compliance with federal and state regulations. Handles Board of Nursing requests and subpoenas. Leads and coordinates employee activities, employee committees, Will have some report and data responsibilities as needed. Completes other duties as defined and needed by the Director of Human Resources.

Requirements:

Experience

  • At least (3) years verifiable experience in a Human Resources capacity. (HR coordinator, Generalist, etc.).
  • Must be able to read, write, speak English, and do simple arithmetic;

Education

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred (education will be considered in lieu of experience)

Licensing/Certifications

  • Must possess or obtain Level I Fingerprint Clearance card.
  • SHRM certification preferred but not required.
  • Other certifications will be as needed.
